The course is a great introduction to Software Quality Assurance. Students are introduced to the foundations and practical techniques for establishing and implementing a Software Quality Assurance for Client/Server and Web applications. Emphasis is placed on methodologies for defining and validating quality, preventing and detecting errors, and defining test strategies and plans. 
It covers various testing techniques, scenarios, requirements hierarchy, cases and scripts. The course provides the essential Quality Assurance techniques with HP / Mercury Interactive automation tool UFT / QuickTest Pro. Students will learn how to plan effective tests, how to record test and perform playbacks, how to manage Object Repository. In addition, the verification procedures will be discussed in details demonstrating different techniques. Topics include Client/Server and WEB Testing, Actions, Standard Checkpoints and Output Value, Data-Driven Test, Descriptive Programming, and Cross-Browser Testing. Extensive automation scripting examples and exercises are provided using QuickTest Pro / UFT. The course includes the presentation with other HP / Mercury tools, such as TestDirector / Quality Center, LoadRunner. Also, this course prepares for the Computer Software Tester (CSTE) Certification from The International Software Certifications Board’s (ISCB).
After completing this course, students should be able to record effective automation scripts using available checkpoint, create batch scripts for regression testing, analyze test results after the execution and pass CSTE certification exam.
This course is valuable for program developers and testers, system analysts, web designers, technical personnel and others interested in learning methods of assuring quality performance for newly designed software. A working knowledge of computer architecture, MS Windows operating system, in addition to one or more programming languages and SQL is preferred.
