What is Data Analysis?

Who should pursue a career in Data Analytics?
Individuals who have strong analytical skills
You are likely to approach problems logically and you probably had good math grades in school.
Before considering this career path, please check available job requirements. You would most likely need to have your college degree completed or nearing graduation. To enter this field most majors are acceptable as long as you demonstrate strong data analytical skills.
People familiar with Statistics
It is important to have some understanding of basic statistics. Ideally, you would need to have passed a statistics class successfully in college.
Those who actually want to change their life
Having motivation is the key. Changing a career requires a lot of effort and patience. Without motivation a person will likely fail. So, ask yourself if you actually want to change something in your life – get a new job, meet smart people, and make an impact.
Why pursue a career in Data Analytics?
Growing demand on Data Analysts
In order to successfully compete in the markets that constantly generate a huge amount of information, major companies adopted data-driven decision management which requires investments into their analytics departments. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the number of jobs will increase by 28% by 2026 which is significantly higher than 7.7%, the average across all occupations.
Education in Statistics is not a strict requirement to enter the field
Of course, having a relevant education is always a plus, but because of the high demand many companies are willing to hire individuals who can demonstrate strong Data Analytical skills.
Creating career opportunities by combining your education and experience with Data Analytics
Whether your college major is in STEM, business or social sciences, having practical DA skills would increase your value in the job market and open new opportunities for higher salary and better jobs. If you already have experience, having DA skills combined with the knowledge of your domain would give you an advantage to get that promotion you wanted.
Data Analytics offers many career avenues
While Data Analyst is generally a common job title, there are other related titles such as Business Data Analyst, Market Analyst, Insight Analyst, etc. Each title depends on the industry or the field. There are plenty of opportunities in advancing careers and entering more technical (and high paid) positions such as Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or Big Data Engineer. Depending on the field, managerial positions will also be available to experienced individuals.
Data Analytics jobs are well-paid
According to ziprecruiter.com, the majority of Data Analyst salaries range between $52,000 (25th percentile) to $89,000 (75th percentile) with an average $72,000 in New York. The salary is increased “based on skill level, location and years of experience”.
Data Analysts can work remotely providing more flexibility
A new trend for many employees is to be partly or fully remote. Some companies, such as Google, announced in 2021 that some employees can work in the office for three days per week, while Facebook made some of the jobs remote permanently.

How our Data Analysis course is designed?
To provide effective and up-to-date training we do three things:
We analyze the current market requirements
We consult with our pool of subject matter experts
We rely on feedback from our students
Learning Data Analytics includes two main components: concepts and implementation.
Learning concepts provides understanding of what and why we are doing the analysis
The implementation part gives practical skills on how to perform the analysis using software tools
Combined together these two elements allow us to tell a meaningful and engaging story, create insightful reports for management, or answer crucial questions to help in designing effective strategy.
Some people may feel that their knowledge of statistics is a bit rusty, so by teaching this module we ensure that everyone has the same level of familiarity with the subject.
In this module we go over the most popular fundamental techniques such as formulas, pivot tables, different types of visualizations, and data analysis tools.
This module teaches how to work with relational databases, more specifically how to extract and manipulate data using queries and statements.
Tableau is one of the most popular data visualization tools in the market allowing flexibility in building dashboards, calculations and advanced data visualization techniques.
First things first, let’s learn the fundamentals of Python programming such as data types, loops and iterators, working with files and functions, OOP and other concepts.
DA with Python
Now we will practice Python to analyze data and create visualizations using Python Libraries, such as Numpy, Pandas, Seaborn, etc.
We will learn Machine Learning and Data Mining; how to prepare data and implement implementation of supervised and unsupervised learning models.
We will practice all learned skills in the capstone project.
