COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This comprehensive course provides solid knowledge in Project Management with PMP Certification Preparation. Through a combination of lectures and exercises, students will learn the key techniques and approaches necessary to be an effective Project Management professional. The course prepares students for the PMP/CAPM exam. This training is available in-class and remotely (online).
1. Project Management with PMP Certification Preparation – This module provides fundamentals of Project Management, including management standards in according to PMI PMBOK, execution of projects in different organizational structures, project management processes (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, verification of completion), PM knowledge areas (integration, scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communication, risk, procurement). This module students will review PMI PMBOK and practice PMP test, including the exam structure and procedures, types of questions and topics, approaches to the test taking, common mistakes to avoid.
This core module teaches following subjects: 1. Project Integration Management: Project Charter, Project Plan, Project Execution, Project Monitoring and Control, Change management, Project Closeout. 2. Project Scope Management: Project Scope and Product Scope (product content), Requirements, WBS Work Breakdown Structure, Scope control. 3. Project Time Management: Relationship between activities, Resource estimation, Activity duration, Schedule. 4. Project Cost Management: Cost estimation, Budget planning, Budget control, Earned Value Measurement. 5. Project Quality Management: Quality planning, Quality assurance and Quality control. 6. Project Human Resources Management: Staffing management plan, Set the project team, Development of the project team, Management of the project team. 7. Project Communications Management: Project participants, Planning communications, Information distribution, Managing expectations of project participants, Reporting. 8. Project Risk Management: Risk Management Planning, Risk identification, Qualitative risk analysis, Quantitative risk analysis, Risk management plan, Risk monitoring and control. 9. Project Procurement Management: Tender procedures, Types of contracts, Contract closeout.
2. PM Documentation Writing Workshop – in this module students will practice creating essential Project management documentation, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Project Proposal/Initiation, Project Budget, Project Plan, Project Charter, Project Status Reporting, Quality Management Plan, Project Risk Assessment / Risk Management Plan, Profit and Loss, Project Closure Documentation and other.
